Here's how it works: as soon as you agree upon the details of the contract,

You drive your car inside, the truck driver straps it to make sure your
car will stand still during the whole trip, then drives away.
A few days later the truck arrives at its destination and unloads your car. The needs of automobile shipping companies vary somewhat depending

they require some proof of ownership to see and a copy of car keys in
case they would need to move the car independently.

confirms that it has picked your car in perfect condition. Otherwise you might expect
that any scratches will be called “preexistent”.
